The Future of Me:
It is impossible to do anything but wish for the future that I have always dreamed of. This is partially why I have so many hopes and ideas for how I want my life to play out. To think about twenty years in the future, even ten, is sort of daunting task for me. Heck, I don't even know where I'm going to college. I'm still at a point where I am weighing the pro's and con's of different majors. This alone could change the outcome of my future career, and life as a whole. But if I were to have the perfect future, no complications, I suppose it would be a little like this:
Going to college has always been a goal in my life. I expect that much of myself, and more. I don't know which college I am going to yet, or even what my top choice is, but I know that I am going to a college. I would like to attend graduate school after 4 years of a double major in either English Literature and Food Science (strange combination I know) or English Literature and Art History. I love to learn new ideas and ways of life, and college is but a stepping stone.
After college, I would love to live in Italy for a couple of years to study art and learn a new language, and then settle down somewhere. I would like to live in another country. This is mainly due to the fact that love to travel. After taking a 5 week trip to Spain, I have a desire to learn new cultures and languages. Seeing new places and exploring the world is in my future no matter what. I will make it happen. I'm pretty sure that getting married will be something that I do. It's one of the few traditional acts that I want to preform in my life.
Aside from traveling for pleasure and settling down eventually, I want a fantastic job, who doesn't. I see myself working for some sort of magazine. I would love to work for either a food magazine or a nature magazine. I have a passion for writing, so my career will have to tie into that passion in one way or another. If writing does not work out for me, I could picture myself owning a bakery where I make everything from pies to cookies to cakes. My career is important in the grand scheme of my life, but it doesn't matter if I am a billionare or a famous movie star, as long as I am doing something that I enjoy.
So that's my future in a nutshell. Well, if it played out perfectly. I know there will be twists and turns along the way, but I can get there if I really try. It may not be exactly how I imagine it, my dreams may change or I may choose a more practical route, but whatever I do, it will be an adventure.
